Scope This policy applies to all trustees, staff, volunteers, mentors, speakers and anyone acting on behalf of FutureBridge Foundation in the course of our programmes.
Our principles
- The welfare of children and young people is paramount
- All young people, whatever their age, gender, ability, culture, race, language, religion or sexual identity, have a right to protection from harm
- All concerns, allegations or suspicions of harm will be taken seriously and responded to promptly and appropriately
- We work in partnership with young people, parents, carers, schools and other agencies to promote welfare
Safer recruitment Trustees, staff, volunteers, mentors and speakers working directly with young people are recruited through safer recruitment practices, including references and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks where appropriate to the role.

Reporting a concern Anyone with a safeguarding concern about a child or young person involved in our programmes should contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately at [safeguarding contact to be confirmed], or, in an emergency, contact the police or children’s services directly.
Training All those working with young people on our behalf receive appropriate safeguarding training and guidance before starting their role.
